Izabel Ramos says: The mission of an economist at Petrobras is to allow the resources discovered by geologists, and the projects developed by engineers, to be incremented in a more efficient line. I work in the investor relations area. There, we try to have more people invest in Petrobras, to get to know Petrobras' stock, and Petrobras fixed income bonds. Our biggest challenge is to make sure Petrobras has access to its resources to realize its investment plans in its projects in a sustainable manner. The most remarkable day for me here at Petrobras was the day the discovery made in the Tupi field was announced, and it was being discussed by all news agencies in the world, it was in all newspapers the world over. So for any information we divulged, we had to be responsible for the information that was being provided and, meanwhile, the grandiosity, the opportunity to be speaking to the world, with the investors, answering questions, moving one of the biggest actions in the world. Petrobras in fact offers economists the most diverse opportunities. There are opportunities for those who like academic work, for those who like the financial market, for those who like to work with the real economy, and even for those who like to assess projects. Entering Petrobras is a challenge, but one that is worthwhile, because the possibilities, the acknowledgment, the space the new... young people have here are huge. And this blend of old timers and new staff, and the doors that open to those who bring in new ideas and want to work here, are really incomparable to those there were anywhere else I worked for in the past. Do not think Petrobras is only about oil, or that you will be limited to that universe. Petrobras is the biggest company in Brazil, and will be one of the biggest in the world. Possibilities are infinite.
