Oil is in our daily life, and it is
even in places we never could imagine: in the car's tires, in lipstick, bubble gum, in fuel.
Our activity has direct impact of society, and that is why we are always connected to it. Acting
with social and environmental responsibility, to us, is a commitment to people and
to the planet.
In order to produce, distribute and trade energy in the countries where we operate, we seek the efficient use of natural resources and energy in our processes, operations and products. We also maintain transparent dialogue with society, allowing us to take into account its needs and interests as concerned our work.
For the seventh years, we have been listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), the most important global sustainability index, used as an analysis parameter by environmentally and socially responsible investors.
Assessed by specific committees, and selected according to widely disseminated criteria, our public selections are also an example of our commitment to society. In 2011, we invested R$641 million in social, environmental, sporting and cultural projects.
