We discovered a new accumulation of good quality oil (26º API) in the Santos Basin pre-salt reservoirs with the drilling of the well known informally Macunaíma.
The well is located at a water depth of 2134 meters, in the Parati pioneer well assessment area, and 244 km off the coast of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
The discovery was proved via an oil sampling in a test carried out in the reservoirs located at an approximate depth of 4,900 meters.
We are the operator of the consortium set up to explore block BM-S-10 (65%), which is also comprised of BG Group (25%) and Partex Brazil (10%).
The consortium will continue the activities and investments necessary to assess the reserves discovered in the area, as per the Assessment Plan approved by the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), the completion of which is scheduled for April 2012.
