Our CEO, José Sergio Gabrielli de Azevedo, was named 2011 Oil Executive of the Year by Energy Intelligence, a renowned information service on the energy industry. Gabrielli was chosen from among the leaders of the 100 largest oil companies in the world.
According to Energy Intelligence CEO, Thomas Wallins, the choice reflects the executive's success at the helm of Petrobras in times of great growth, especially for the discoveries made in the pre-salt region - the most important of the last decade -, the successful capitalization process in 2010, and the second biggest market value among the oil companies.
Energy Intelligence also emphasized that under Gabrielli's management, our company made discoveries that may more than double our reserves and production in the coming years, and have positioned us as a leader in deepwater exploration and production technology, with one of the industry's highest safety and efficiency standards.
The awarding ceremony is scheduled for October 10, during the 32nd annual Oil&Money conference, in London.
