Anyone who drives on the Brazilian roads or streets is very familiar with Petrobras. Our service stations are always nearby. When it comes time to chose, you can trust our fuels.
Our fuel sets Brazilian cities into motion. When you fill your tank up at our service stations, the gasoline, ethanol, and vehicular natural gas are guaranteed by the An Eye Out on the Fuel program.
The very same quality assurance the Lubrax brand has conveyed for decades, you can also experience by using the Evolua line of cleaning and conservation products for your vehicle.
We develop cutting-edge technology to produce several types of gasoline, among which the best one in the market. Additionally, you can also count on the "An Eye Out on the Fuel" program, which ensures the fuel's quality at the certified stations.
Learn more about our gasolines, which meet several specifications and can be used for several purposes: Podium, with additives and regular.
Podium is the gasoline with the highest octane rating sold in the world, and it can be used in any vehicle, whether running on a gasoline or on a flexfuel engine.
Unlike what you may think, Podium is also efficient in 1.0 vehicles, it all depends on the engine compression rate. Check out your car's rate. If it is equal to or above 10:1, you will notice the benefits when you tank-up with this gasoline.
The explanation for this is in Podium's octane rating. It allows the engine manufacturer’s total designed power to be used, affording faster speed recovery and, thus, ensuring safer passing.
Because of its formulation and of its special additive package, developed especially for the Brazilian gasoline, Petrobras Podium also prevents the formation of deposits in the engine, reducing vehicle maintenance costs.
The technology used to develop Podium was based on the same standards as those Petrobras used to prepare fuels for Formula 1. Do you know of any more demanding proving field?
Another benefit afforded by Podium is its very low sulfur content, which reduces pollutant emissions and preserving the environment.
You can find Podium gasoline at the Petrobras service station nearest to you [available in Portuguese].

Diesel fuel, in its various denominations, is the main fuel marketed in Brazil, and is used to transport cargo and passengers on boats, in the industry, to generate power, in construction machinery, in farm machinery and in locomotives, meeting the needs both of the consumers and of the most advanced technologies in combustion engines.
We produce and trade Diesel fuel on the fuel distribution market for applications defined pursuant to the specifications set forth by the National Petroleum Agency (ANP).
To ensure top performance for your vehicle's engine, and to reduce the speed recovery time, fill your tank up regularly with Podium Diesel.
This diesel fuel is formed by special oil currents and has exclusive additives in it, which keep the injection system clean and reduce foaming when you fill your tank up.
Another advantage of the Podium Diesel is that, for being the only one with a double filtering system at the service stations, it removes the solid particles and the water during the tank filling procedure.
You can find the Podium Diesel fuel at select Petrobras service stations in the states of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo and in the cities of Curitiba, Paranaguá, Florianópolis, and Itajaí. An even greater quality assurance.

Marketed by Petrobras Distribuidora, Extra Diesel has an exclusive package of additives in it (detergent, antifoam and anticorrosion, and emulsifier) that improves performance and slashes maintenance costs.
Each additive works in a specific manner:
- the detergent additive removes deposits in the fuel supply system and on the injector nozzles,
- the antifoam additive reduces foaming during the fill-up procedure, making it faster,
- the anticorrosive and emulsifier reduces tank and fuel line corrosion levels.
Continuous usage of Extra Diesel allows for a more homogeneous blend of the fuel with air, improving engine yield, preventing diesel fuel waste, and reducing emissions.

We entered a new technological era with the S-50 Diesel fuel. This variety of diesel has a concentration of 0.005% sulfur in its composition, a maximum content of 50 mg/kg (parts per million), affording an even greater reduction of particulate material emissions to the environment.
In January 2009, we started supplying S-50 Diesel for use by the captive urban bus fleets in the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In May, we increased distribution to the entire metropolitan vehicle fleet in Fortaleza, Recife, and Belém.
The Curitiba bus fleets will start receiving the fuel in August. Other cities will be included during 2010 and 2011.
In the other cities, we supply the Metropolitan and the Interior Diesel fuels, according to fleet concentration.
Metropolitan Diesel fuel is in the Brazilian cities that concentrate the biggest fleets in circulation. Used by buses, trucks, and other heavy transportation vehicles, the product's sulfur concentration is 0.05%.
The fuel that is sold the most in Brazil, Interior Diesel Fuel is used by the train engines, agricultural machines, tractors, combines, and freight and passenger transportation vehicles.
You can find Interior Diesel fuel in the Brazilian municipalities where there are smaller fleets in circulation. Its sulfur concentration corresponds to 0.18% and, to differentiate it from the Metropolitan version, a red dye is blended into it.

As a part of the biodiesel studies, we created a program that covers technological development, commercial production, and product availability at our service stations.
Biodiesel is a biodegradable fuel derived from renewable sources, which can be obtained by means of several processes. It can be made from animal fat or vegetable oils, there are dozens of species of plants in Brazil that can be used, such as castor beans, dende palm, sunflower seeds, babaçu, peanuts, jatropha, and soybeans, among others.
Its usage substitutes, in full or in part, for diesel fuel in truck, tractor, car, power and heat generator engines, among others.
It can be used pure or blended with diesel at several proportions. The current biodiesel blend with diesel fuel in the Brazilian market is 5%, the so-called B5. Pure biodiesel is called B100.

Brazilians have been using ethanol for a very long time. Since the 1970's, with the Pró-Álcool (Pro-Ethanol) program, it can be found at all Petrobras service stations.
In Brazil, ethanol is made from sugarcane fermentation. Based on specific recommendations, it can be blended in with diesel and gasoline.
You may not know this, but the ethanol you fill your tank up with is different from the one that is added to gasoline.
The fuel that supplies ethanol-fueled or flexfuel vehicles is hydrated ethylic alcohol, characterized for being limpid and colorless. The product that is added to gasoline, meanwhile, is anhydrous ethylic alcohol.
We distribute ethanol via Petrobras Distribuidora, and are developing new technologies to produce the fuel.
The estimates for late 2010 are for a production (in partnerships) of a billion liters of ethanol.

Converting vehicles to use natural gas, particularly taxi fleets in the major urban centers,
helped popularize VNG. Like oil, it is a fossil fuel, but has a few differentials:
- It offers a cost advantage per mile;
- As it is dry, it does not leave carbon residues in the internal engine parts, increasing
the engine’s useful life and the oil change interval;
- It has low nitrogen, carbon dioxide and sulfur emission levels, contributing to improve
the air in the urban centers.
Cars converted to use VNG become "bifuel," and the driver can pick the best option when it comes time to fill up.
No matter your choice, at the Petrobras Service Station you count on the "An Eye Out to Fuel" program, that ensures the quality of the product that fills your car's tank.
