Nitrogen is the macronutrient plants absorb the most, and it is fundamental for their development. Using nitrogen ensures high-performance productivity to the Brazilian agriculture.

  • Urea

    Urea is the main source of nitrogen for Brazilian agriculture, an area that accounts for some 57% of this product's consumption in Brazil.

    Synthesized from ammonium and carbon dioxide, at high temperatures and pressures, urea is used as a raw material in the industry and in agriculture and cattle raising in Brazil.

    We produce urea at the nitrogenated fertilizer plants at the Camaçari Petrochemical Pole (state of Bahia) and in the municipality of Laranjeiras (state of Sergipe).

    Granulated Fertilizing Urea

    We pioneered the production of granulated urea in Brazil. We started manufacturing this product in November 2007, at the Sergipe Nitrogenated Fertilizer Plant.

    The main characteristic of this product is its larger diameter (2 to 4 mm) and the uniformity of its grains, features that ensure more homogeneous blending and afford better results for crops that use the Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Potassium (NPK) formulation.

    Another important characteristic of granulated urea is that its grains are harder, there are fewer fine grains in it, and, thus, it is a better quality product.

    Because of its characteristics, granulated urea is appropriate for more technified crops, such as coffee, corn, sugarcane, and cotton.

    Pearled Fertilizing Urea

    Pearled urea has been widely used in Brazilian agriculture for several decades.

    The grains' pearl shape results from the process that puts the concentrated liquid product, in the shape of droplets, in contact with a current of hot air. The transformation takes place inside the pearlation tower.

    Industrial Urea

    This type of urea is used as a raw material in several industrial processes, such as in the production of recycled wood for the furniture sector, in addition to in the textile, chemical and food industries.

    Also known as technical urea, it stands out and differs from the other products because it is free of formaldehyde and of the synthetic polyvynil acetate (PVA) in their formulation, ensuring conformity for industrial use.

  • Reforce N

    Reforce N is the only feed supplement for ruminants developed with Petrobras' quality and guarantee. The product's main compound is urea, the main and most advantageous source of non-proteinic nitrogen in the market.

    The supplement works on the primary pillar for good animal development: nutrition (the other pillars are health, genetics, and management).

    Another Reforce N highlight is its exclusive use for animals (cattle, sheep, goats, and buffalo), not competing with human food.

  • Ammonium

    The ammonium we manufacture at Petrobras is generated from natural gas at our fertilizer plants in Bahia and Sergipe.

    This chemical product is used by the fertilizer, pharmaceutical, textile, and industrial refrigeration industries, among others.

    Under normal temperature and pressure conditions, ammonium is a gas. However, the product is sold as a liquid and used by the fertilizer industry as a raw material to produce urea, ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate, monoamonic phosphate (MAP), diamonic phosphate (DAP), and ammonium can also be applied directly on the soil.

    At our fertilizer plant in Bahia, we also use ammonium to produce nitric acid.

    The ammonium we produce is supplied to customers in Northeastern, Midwestern, and Southeastern Brazil. Transportation takes place, mainly, over the modal routes (pipelines and highway).

  • Castor Bean Cake Fertilizer

    Castor bean cake is one of the products resulting from the extraction of castor oil, which we produce through Petrobras Biocombustível. It is used as an important organic fertilizer in crops such as coffee, pepper, sugarcane and vegetables, among others. Besides being an excellent source of Nitrogen, it has important nematicidal activity and can be used to control nematode plant parasites.

    Petrobras Biocombustível is currently the largest producer of Castor Bean Cake in Brazil, and with the quality of the Petrobras products that you already know.

  • Sunflower Meal

    Sunflower Meal is one of the products resulting from the extraction of sunflower oil, which we produce through Petrobras Biocombustível.

    An excellent source of protein and micronutrients, sunflower meal is widely used in cattle, sheep, goat and pig feed.

    We supply small, midsize and large customers across the country.

  • Soybean Meal

    Soybean meal is a product resulting from the extraction of soybean oil.

    The main source of protein in animal feed, Soybean Meal is widely used in poultry, sheep, goat, pig and cattle feed.
