We have developed a new type of fuel in Brazil: diesel with renewable content

We have implemented technology in our refineries capable of processing petroleum diesel along with renewable content, such as vegetable oil or animal fat. The product resulting from this mixture is the R Diesel, which can be marketed with different volumes of renewable content, such as, for example, R5 Diesel, with 5% renewable content, or R10 Diesel, with 10%.

In comparison with ester biodiesel, currently mixed with petroleum diesel, R Diesel reduces the emission of pollutants and improves engine performance. The use of diesel with renewable content is one of the fastest growing in the world, increasing competition in the segment and benefiting consumers.

The evolution of diesel for a power transition to more sustainable products.

R Diesel, in addition to being more sustainable, complies with the most demanding engines and exhaust gas treatment systems, without requiring alterations or changes in the logistics chain or in its storage. It is a product with high stability and free of contaminants, which ensures greater durability and lower risk of engine failure.

Increases vehicle lifespan

Diesel with renewable content also brings benefits to the environment: it reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to ester biodiesel, considering the same original vegetable oil.

Another important benefit for air quality is that renewable diesel is fully compatible with the most advanced vehicle technologies, as it has no metallic contaminants.

Internationally awarded innovation

Responsible for the production and marketing of R Diesel, Presidente Getúlio Vargas Refinery (Repar) received the renowned ISCC (International Sustainability Carbon & Certification) certificate. This is one of the most traditional certifications on the market, applicable to the sustainability of raw materials and products.

The certification assesses not only greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions throughout the product's life cycle, but also whether the entire production chain is environmentally responsible.

ISCC's global recognition shows that, with R Diesel, we are on the right path of energy transition towards more sustainable products.

R Diesel is more sustainable as it reduces up to 90% of greenhouse gas emissions in its renewable portion, of vegetable oil, compared to other diesel oils.
