With fuel oils, we generate heat in industries and electricity in homes
We play an important role in the local generation of energy in industries, in generation for the National Electric System, as well as for generation in the Isolated Electric System. Fuel oils (OC) are used both in heating furnaces and generating steam in calderas as well as in engines that move generator turbines in thermoelectric plants (UTEs).
Fuel oils are produced from a complex blend of streams from petroleum processing, based on vacuum distillation (RV) waste. Diluents in the diesel oil boiling range or heavier are added to the RV, depending on the formulation.
Quality requirements
Petrobras OCs were developed with technology to meet the following quality requirements:
Adequate combustion, for less waste formation and emission of pollutants.
Adequate flow at operating temperatures.
Minimization of wear and tear of headers and parts of the engine or furnace refractories, as the case may be.
Safe handling and storage.
We sell OC-B1, and OC-CMB oils in the domestic market to fuel distributors, who resell them to industries and UTEs.
Petrobras OCB1
These oils are used in calderas and furnaces in industries, and the following are considered their main properties:
Maximum 1% in mass. It meets the technologies for abatement of atmospheric emissions from industrial units.
Maximum 620 cSt @60°C. It meets the requirements of burners, providing adequate nebulization to the fuel and, consequently, better burning.
The maximum value can vary from 15° to 27°C depending on the region and seasonality. It serves the flow and storage at lower temperatures, consequently, with lower cost.
Petrobras OC-CMB
Petrobras OC-CMB is used in combustion engines for power generation in thermoelectric plants, having the same properties as OC B1, but with control of the presence of metals that can cause deposits and wear and tear of headers and injector nozzles, providing greater protection of the engine.
